This interactive presentation will draw from experience to highlight some of the challenges of negotiating contracts in an international context. Discussion items will include (1) preparing your team, (2) knowing your customer, (3) misconceptions and the danger of assumptions, (4) the when & how of negotiations, and (5) securing the right contract. The discussion will be led by Dentons partner Jana Mansour, who brings close to 20 years of law firm experience from New York City, representing North American and Japanese clients in the development and financing of large infrastructure projects across the world. Jana regularly represents owners and contractors on large construction undertakings, and he will draw on his experience accompanying clients to negotiate contracts in a variety of locales, such as Mexico City, Miami, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Houston and Helsinki.
