BCCR October Breakfast Session: Metro Centre Oakridge – An Eight Year Project

The Oakridge precinct is on track to become a major metro centre. At this breakfast session, two representatives from the City of Vancouver Engineering and Planning Departments will provide an update on the Cambie Corridor Plan and associated Utility Servicing Plan. This Plan is a major city building initiative that will transform single family neighborhoods and sees the Corridor’s population more than double and add over 30,000 new homes. This will make the Corridor the biggest growth area outside of Downtown Vancouver. Accommodating new residents will require a Utility Servicing Plan to upgrade the water, sewer and drainage utilities which were constructed in the 1950s-60s and are now at capacity. The City Planning Department will provide a summary of the Cambie Corridor Plan and the Engineering Department will outline the associated Utility Servicing Plan construction phasing and new city-wide Utility Development Cost Levy which contributes to funding over $300M of the utility works over the next 8 years.

Payment by VISA or MasterCard is required at the time of registering for non-members.
