Gitche M'Qua Centre for Healing and Dying is a charitable Education and Community Development organization committed to bringing wisdom teachings in support of conscious living and dying.

Gitche M’Qua means “Great Bear” from the Anishinabeojibway language. Bear, who sits in the west in their traditional Medicine Wheel, represents the direction of healing, transformation, and death. The vision for Gitche M’Qua Centre was born during Alido Di Iorio’s healing journey in 1997. The Centre bears his name given to him by a traditional Elder as well as the legacy of his death. 

The Gitche M'Qua Centre offers programs, workshops, courses, and conferences, such as our Being With Our Dying Series, as well as ongoing classes in Meditation, Qi Gong, Feldenkrais, and Pilates.  We offer a unique environment for developing programs that enrich our minds, our hearts, our spirits, our bodies, and our Earth.
