Ryan BrownRyan Brown serves as Executive Vice President of EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) for the Eastern Region and Canada.  In his role, Ryan is responsible for the profit/loss of more than 2,600 megawatts (MW) of operating wind and solar projects from Illinois to South Carolina as well as in Canada.  Ryan is responsible for growing EDPR NA’s business activities, including overall responsibility for the region’s origination, acquisition, development, financing, construction, operations, and monitoring and follow up of regulatory and government affairs, in order to fulfill EDPR NA’s strategic objectives.  He is also a member of EDPR NA’s seven-person Executive Team.

In Canada, Ryan has led a team of staff to establish development pipeline of new project opportunities, including the oversight of the acquisition and development of its first wind farm in the country in 2013 and current plans to construct the 100 MW Nation Rise wind farm in Ontario and the 248 MW Sharp Hills wind farm in Alberta in 2019.

Prior to joining EDPR NA, Ryan worked in the Office of Energy Development (OED) for the State of Indiana, where he managed Indiana’s Governor-designated state energy office.  Ryan has also worked in corporate finance, as well as work and volunteer experience in Mexico and Ecuador.

Ryan received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2001.  Ryan and his family live in Indianapolis, Indiana.
